Ram Launch Initiative

The Ram Launch Initiative is the CSU Senior Design rocket competition team for the 2023-2024 school year. We will be competing in the NASA Student Launch competition. The NASA Student Launch is part of the Artemis Student Challenge, with the goal of increasing the visibility and enthusiasm for the aerospace industry. Being one of the first Universities in Colorado and the first CSU team to compete in this competition, any amount to help support your CSU Rocket Team is greatly appreciated!

For the competition, our team will build and launch a rocket between 4,000ft. - 6,000ft while deploying a payload 400ft. - 800ft. on the descent. The payload for this year's competition is an atmospheric-independent lander that cannot utilize methods that increase drag such as parachutes and streamers. The lander will carry four stand-in astronauts (STEMnauts) and land with human survivability metrics. In addition to over 100 design critical requirements, teams must also complete several STEM outreach, social media, and presentational NASA requirements. The competition finishes in April with a competition launch in Huntsville, AL against 48 other Universities.

More information on the competition can be found in the NASA Student Launch Handbook: https://www.nasa.gov/learning-resources/nasa-student-launch/

Thank you for your consideration! A gift of any amount makes an impact and your support will help us procure and build the vehicle and payload, as well as travel to competition in Alabama.

All donations to this project benefit the Mechanical Engineering Senior Design Practicum fund.
