Ram Racing is a diverse group of students that collaborate to design, build and race a formula style car through the implementation and execution of engineering concepts. Ram Racing upholds Colorado State University's Principles of Community, to provide students with real world experience and prepare for industry success. We accomplish this through our DRIVE Values: Discipline, Respect, Inclusion, Victory, and Education.
The 2022-2023 Ram Racing team will compete against 100+ of the best engineering schools from 20+ countries at competition in Michigan. Formula SAE is a student design competition sponsored by Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) in which students design, manufacture and compete in a formula 1-style race car. The competition requires performance demonstration of vehicles in a series of events, both on and off track. FSAE is the largest and most prestigious collegiate engineering competition in the world, and we intend to show up with a capable, reliable car that will get us on the leaderboard and act as a foundation for future years.
This year's Ram Racing team has been hard at work developing a new race car, the RR23, boasting a Yamaha R6 engine, a state-of-the-art aerodynamics package with a robust chassis and suspension system. Our Program has been reinvented and redefined since COVID-19, we have built this team from its ashes, and we have accomplished the goal we set for ourselves. We have connected numerous students with job opportunities after college, educated them in software they will not see for years in the classroom, and built a committed team.
We are fundraising in order to cover expenditures to attend the FSAE competition in Michigan during May 15-21, 2023. This will be a great opportunity for the team members, as they will present their designs to a panel of judges and see their work come to life. This will be an equally great opportunity for the team as a whole, facilitating a team comradery found nowhere else at CSU. It is expensive to bring a student to competition: we intend to provide, food, lodging and transportation for up to 19 students. Your support will help lower the financial barrier of entry for a student to attend this potentially life changing opportunity.
All donations to this project -- no matter the amount -- make an enormous impact on the Ram Racing team. All donations benefit the Formula Society of Automotive Engineering Infrastructure fund.
