School is Cool is a Colorado State University community outreach program. For 31 years, our CSU RAMily has provided essential school supplies to local Poudre School District students from low-income families. The students we serve start the school year with the tools they need to academically succeed. Since 1992, School Is Cool has helped more than 50,000 students. Besides ensuring they have the essential school supplies they need, the program also strives to build a student’s self-esteem – an important factor for academic success. As an institution of higher education, CSU knows the importance of an education and works to enhance the quality of it for the youth in our community.

A $30 donation provides a brand-new backpack filled with an average of 13 grade-appropriate school supplies.

Funding for School is Cool has always come from the community. The Bohemian Foundation and the CSU Bookstore are major sponsors, but the greatest support comes from the CSU community – faculty and staff, alumni, students and donors.
